Family Yoga

Wellness for the Entire Family

Build stronger connections through shared mindfulness and movement practices

About Our Family Yoga Project

The "Family Yoga" project was created to help parents and children care for their physical and emotional health together. We believe that family practice creates a special connection between generations while promoting physical health and emotional balance.

Our instructors design sessions specifically for mixed-age groups, ensuring that both adults and children can participate at their own level. We focus on poses that promote flexibility, strength, and coordination while incorporating playful elements that keep children engaged and excited about yoga practice.

Regular family yoga practice has been shown to improve communication between parents and children, reduce household stress, and create a foundation for lifelong wellness habits. Our community has grown steadily since our founding as families discover the joy of practicing together.

Age-Appropriate Practice

Our classes are designed to accommodate family members of all ages, with modifications for different skill and development levels. Parents and children can practice side by side, each working at their appropriate intensity while maintaining the communal experience.

Breathing & Mindfulness

We incorporate child-friendly breathing exercises and mindfulness practices that help both parents and children develop emotional regulation skills. These techniques can be used beyond the yoga studio to manage stress and build resilience in daily life.

Playful yoga poses with families

Playful Approach

Our sessions incorporate games, stories, and playful activities that make yoga engaging for children while still providing meaningful practice for adults. By blending fun with mindful movement, we create an environment where families look forward to their practice time.

Transformation Through Family Yoga

The Johnson Family practicing yoga together

The Johnson Family's Journey

"When we started family yoga, my husband was skeptical and our children couldn't sit still for five minutes. Six months later, we practice together three times a week at home in addition to our studio classes. Our 8-year-old son, who struggles with ADHD, has shown remarkable improvement in his ability to focus and self-regulate. Meanwhile, my husband finds that the breathing techniques help manage his work stress. Family yoga has become our special time to reconnect and center ourselves amidst busy schedules."

— Lisa Johnson, practicing for 1 year

Three Generations of Wellness

"Our family spans three generations, from my 72-year-old mother to my 6-year-old daughter. Finding activities we can all enjoy together has always been challenging, but family yoga has bridged the age gap beautifully. The instructors are skilled at offering modifications that work for everyone's ability level. My mother has improved her balance and mobility, while my children have learned to respect and appreciate their grandmother's journey. The mindfulness practices have transformed how we communicate during challenging moments at home."

— Carmen Rodriguez, practicing for 2 years
